VISIT MY STUDIO IN HASLEMERE, SURREY

STUDIO VISITS

I actively encourage studio visits – there's no better way to experience original paintings than seeing them in person. You'll be able to view available work, discuss framing options, and get a feel for the scale and texture of the paintings.

Studio visits are by appointment only, with absolutely no pressure to purchase. It's simply an opportunity to see the work and have a conversation about what you're looking for.

To arrange a visit, to my Surrey studio in Haslemere, please email with a few dates that work for you, and I'll find a time that suits us both.

A UNIQUE WORK OF ART FOR YOU

COMMISSION ENQUIRIES

I'm happy to discuss commissions, and my preference is to work from life (rather than from photos) and work from a
subject that is in keeping with my style. I paint what I love, and that passion needs to be present for the work to succeed.

If you're interested in commissioning a painting, please get in touch to discuss:

  • The subject or location you have in mind
  • Size preferences (I work up to
a certain size en plein air, for example, 12”x16”, but if you would like a larger piece I will complete a number of small plein air studies from which I will create a larger painting in my studio)
  • Timeframe
  • Budget

A deposit is required to proceed, with the balance due on completion.

Have a question about my paintings, the buying process, or arranging a studio visit?

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

What is plein air painting?

Plein air means "in the open air" in French. I paint outdoors, directly from the subject, to capture changing light and weather in real time. Each painting records a specific fleeting moment.

What does "alla prima" mean?

Alla prima is Italian for "at once". I complete each painting in one session while the paint is wet, preserving freshness and spontaneity.

Can I see paintings before buying?

Yes – I actively encourage studio visits. See the work in person with no pressure to purchase. Arrange a visit using the form above.

Do you ship internationally?

Yes. UK and European delivery is free. For other destinations, contact me for a quote.

Are your paintings framed?

Some yes, some no. Browse framed paintings (ready to hang) or unframed paintings (choose your own framing). I can arrange bespoke framing for any unframed work.

Do you take commissions?

Yes, selectively. I specialise in landscapes where light is the focus. Email me to discuss your idea and I'll let you know if I'm the right artist for your project.

How do I care for my oil painting?

Hang away from direct sunlight, avoid humid areas, dust gently with a soft brush twice yearly, and don't touch the painted surface. Handle by frame edges only.

What are your qualifications?

I'm an elected member of the Royal Institute of Oil Painters (ROI), author of 'Painting Light and Colour in Oils' (Crowood Press), and winner of a number of prizes. See my full exhibition history.
